Sudha Murty is an Indian author, educator, philanthropist, and former chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. She writes in Kannada and English, and her works have been widely translated into several Indian languages, including Telugu. Her writing spans novels, short stories, travelogues, children’s literature, and non-fiction, often focusing on everyday life, human values, relationships, and social experiences. Some of her well-known books include Wise and Otherwise, Grandma’s Bag of Stories, The Day I Stopped Drinking Milk, and Three Thousand Stitches. Apart from literature, she is known for her philanthropic and educational work across India. She is also the wife of N. R. Narayana Murthy and has received honors including the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan from the Government of India.
